have to pay for car parking.
•
If your hire car is parked on the upper level, follow the exit signs,
go down the ramp and turn left out of the car park.
Both
the above lead to below directions

•
At the next roundabout go straight over and then take the slip road
to the right for Murcia E15/A7 N340, go up the slip road and join
the motorway. You are now on the Autovia del Mediteraneo.
•
Once on the motorway, sit back and relax – notice Almeria
prison on the right hand side, plus all the plastic greenhouses
which house the tomato crops – they have four crops per year
as this is the sunniest part of Europe!
•
After Junction 48 you will see signs for Vera – keep going!
•
You can leave the motorway at Junction 494 Carboneras if you would
like to take the scenic route through the mountains (not for the
faint hearted!); this is a slower and windier route but is obviously
prettier. The motorway bypasses the mountains.
•
Junction 504 Sorbas – this is a nice Spanish town to visit
with lovely villas and town square. You have to go past Sorbas to
get to Mini Hollywood.
•
Junction 520 Los Gallardos, Turre, Mojacar, Bedar – exit the
motorway at this junction.
•
Turn right at the roundabout at the top of the slip road, sign posted
Turre (6 kms) and Mojacar (9 kms) (AL-150). This is a pleasant road
which will take you through the countryside.
Directions to Mojacar from Almeria Airport (Continued)

You will come to a bridge over the Rio Aguas – you have right
of way over oncoming traffic.
•
At the next bridge, there is no right of way – be careful!

9 hole golf course. As you follow this road round you can see Mojacar
Pueblo (village) on the right hand side in the mountains.

We can thoroughly recommend restaurant Mesa de Peppe (which is on
the left hand side as you come through the town. On the right is
the ‘Super Turre’ supermarket at which you might like
to stop to pick up supplies. It looks like a bomb’s hit it
but don’t be deceived by its appearance.
•
This road will bring you into the bottom of Mojacar Pueblo, the
road goes off to the right and carries on to the left for Mojacar
Playa (Beach), follow the road round to the left and down the hill.

with lots of boutiques, gift shops, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket
on the lower level). This is where you will find bank cash points.

left this takes you to the fishing town Garrucha). You are now in
Mojacar Playa and this road takes you alongside the beach.
•
Follow this road along for about 3.5km, past various bars, restaurants
and shops. You will go past the Parator hotel, El Arbol (supermarket),
Ferreteria Lopez (hardware/DIY store – worth a visit just
to see what they don’t sell in there!), next to Lopez and
before Mr UK, is Pollo Agados, which sells wonderful take-away dishes;
past the camp site on the right hand side, you will also see lots
of beach bars (chiranquitos on the left hand side, these are well
worth a visit at lunchtime), a new roundabout with the Red Cross
Centre on the left hand side, opposite a large Pharmacy with a green
cross, more bars and restaurants and another new roundabout with
the riding stables on left hand side and La Gaviota on the right.
•
Further along past the Irish Rover bar on the left hand side and
Bar Lua (fantastic beach bar) on the left hand side. Just along
the next stretch of bars/restaurants you will come to a zebra crossing
where you turn right between Northover Removals and Essentials Bar.
Look out for a restaurant called Case Egea (big wooden brown sign)
in the same parade of shops on the right.
•
Follow this road up and turn right into Calle Diamarca.
•
Take the next left into Calle Mesquite
•
You can either take the next right Calle Alhambra and go right to
the end and park your car at the bottom of the steps on the left
hand side. These steps will take you up to the gardens of Alcazaba.
Do not park under shelter, as this is private.
•
Once you’ve reached the gardens of Alcazaba you need to follow
the path to the left hand side, which takes you to the access road
at the rear of the apartments. Towards the bottom of the incline
you will then see apartments 2F/2G.
Alternatively,
you can carry up the hill on Calle Mesquite and turn right at the
top, it’s a bumpy dust track, but you will see the apartment
complex in front of you, go down the steep hill and there is parking
at the bottom on the right hand side. Please park considerately
as there are limited parking spaces at the moment until the access
road is finished.
